The latest addition to the OCZ line of solid state drives is the consumer-oriented vector. Available in capacities of 128 GB up to 512 GB, the ultra-slim vector is based on the new Indilinx Barefoot controller OCZ 3. Developed entirely in-house, this state-of-the-art controller is powered by an ARM Cortex processor and co-processor by OCZ and has an engine ETC advanced, multi-level, efficient garbage collection and adaptive management ?ash algorithms. The carrier is also equipped with 25nm MLC NAND synchronous and an extra-large cache DRAM to provide up to 550 MB/s read and write speed 530MB/s with a maximum of 95,000 random write 4 KB IOPS.
For this review, OCZ has sent us the 256 GB version of the vector. This SSD is equipped with 512 MB of onboard cache and is able to deliver sequential reading 550 MB/s and 530MB/s sequential write speeds as well as up to 100,000 random read and random write IOPS 95,000.
